This is a beautiful post Linda- raw in heartbreak and resilience. I am reminded of the Native American story of the battle between 2 Wolves: one angry and one wise. Which one wins? The one we feed.
A verse from the New Testament, Luke 2:14, reads: “And on earth, Peace. And goodwill toward men.” (From KJV). I searched to verify that and was surprised to find a number of translations qualifying for whom that “Peace” is intended. For those that please him; for those in whom he is well pleased, etc.
To me that “qualification” can provide a basis for discrimination, shunning, slaughter.
My intent is in no way to critique your words today. Rather that religions and holy books usually contain the grounds for discrimination. Peace on earth? Jesus noted to his followers that edifices/churches were not where to find God; that God resides within each and every one of us.
Sounds pretty inclusive to me...
Thanks Linda for your thought provoking words once again.

What a beautiful post. Thank you for guiding us into compassion by turning the fires of rage and terror into hope and comfort!
