Mom's Birthday
Getting the band back together.
This week was Mom’s 80th birthday.
Months ago, as we discussed plans for a celebration, I’d suggested that it had been a long time since we’d had photos taken as a family. My brother reached out to his neighbour, who is a photographer, and he agreed to help us out.
I’d envisioned something simple, a few pics in the backyard, but we ended up at his professional photography studio. It was a lovely day, so we headed outdoors to grab a few pics along the canal; the setting was perfect.
I snapped a few candid pics; here is a sample. I expect the photographer’s finished product will be wonderful, far less random and will be enjoyed for years to come.
It was great to gather from across the country to celebrate, to catch up and play some crib. Here’s to many more sunny days and opportunities to reunite as a family.
